Names, dates, amounts, locations, quotations and document references are checked before publication. Uncertain information is clearly described as an allegation, claim or unverified detail.
Primary Sources
Original orders, RTI replies, payment records, court documents, official data, field verification and direct interviews are prioritised.
Independence
Editorial decisions are not directed by advertisers, political actors, sources, complainants or private interests. Advertising payment does not determine news outcomes.
Fairness and Context
Reports seek to include relevant context, material contrary facts and the response of affected parties.
Minimising Harm
Necessity, consent and safety are assessed before publishing identities involving children, sexual-offence survivors, medical information, private addresses or other sensitive details.
